We aim to help women break free of limitations, and disempowering thinking, get in touch with their inner strength and achieve balance and harmony in all areas of her life.
To design a social-cause brand “Umeed” and its responsive website which people can use to donate to the women in need and offering to women for work-from-home, peer-to-peer conversations, and opportunities for career growth.
Interviews were conducted to understand the present donation system. 10 interviewers are picked from different age groups to understand their point of views, challenges and motivations.
What are the pain points?
Don’t know which organization offers free online counselling
Lack of knowledge of where to donate
Don’t know where my donations are going
Lack of time to go and study anywhere due to pandemic situation
Nishi Kaur is an engineer who needs a legal counsellor because she wants to get out of her toxic marriage and start a new career.
User Journey Map
Based on the user research, I have created a user journey map to better understand the crucial pain points, how the user feels at every step and overall journey which the user may encounter while donating and get multiple facilities.
Information Architecture
Digital wireframes
Low-fidelity prototype
Once I created the Information Architecture, it gave me a clear idea on how to structure my responsive website using Adobe XD.
On the basis of user research and analysis, I created High-Fidelity prototype. I wanted the visual design to emphasize these core values: simplicity (minimal design) and creativity. I created a dedicated a responsive website.

Learnings
I really enjoyed the whole process. It felt good to see an idea come to life and interact with it. This topic was close to my heart as I myself have faced the same situation. During the whole research process, I learnt the importance of asking the right questions to users, to gather the relevant information. Most important learning: “One should never settle with the first design idea, keep getting feedback and iterate your designs as - No Design is perfect, there is always room for improvements”.
Next steps
Conduct more usability testing to see how users feel about using the product and accordingly iterating the designs
Work on remaining screens and features.
Adding a rewards features to increase engagement of users
